New Hybrid Project

I was so excited about this project! My MIL got my kids started playing YAHTZEE a while back. I started looking at it and thought, that's just dice and score sheets - so I made one!

I used an empty canister (I have tons of them, they are from "shakes" that we drink in the morning, so we go through tons and I hate to throw them away!), created a layout to fit the front of the canister (for my game I used The Party Animal from Faith True and the Grateful4U Collab from many designers in the digi scrap world - thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I printed my layout onto "sticker" paper and adhered to canister and then spray sealed. I found both instructions and score sheets for the game, I reduced both to fit inside my canister and chopped pencils in half to keep with the game also. I found dice for $1 at Dollar Tree - SCORE - and also bought the little kid snack cups with lids there! That's it...so I spent less than 5 bucks for a game that we'll use over and over AND it's very portable. I also thought, this type of canister would be great for a "beauty kit" for someone's birthday, or art supplies for a little one...what are your ideas? Show me...link me up to your gallery!

Hybrid 101

OKAY! Today starts my weekly "Hybrid 101" series. These are just ideas to get you thinking HYBRID! I'll have templates, tips, projects and freebies...so check back every week to get your hybrid groove on! :)

To get us started, I've got a pillow box template for ya! This is not my own, unique idea, but here is a template I created for you to use.

Just right click on the image and save the file to your computer. Insert it into a new document in your photo editing software, size it to your preference and use your magic wand to delete all the white. In photoshop, I put the template on top of my background paper and change the blending mode to overlay so the template is less visible on my finished project.

Here is one I made using ChrisGeiser's Ella's Kerchief available exclusively at the Shaker Box.

If you use my template, or have your own, go make a pillow box, upload it to your fave gallery and come back and comment with a link to your creations - I can't wait to see them!

New Creative Team

I'm excited to say that I've joined Michelle Yiap's Creative Team. Her great kits can be found here and here's my first layout for her using "Summer Garden".

What UP?

It's been a while since I've blogged but I wanted to add some exciting new stuff.

Race for Your Birthday Party, Charlie Brown

Hey, iscrap is having a huge online crop this weekend for both digi and traditional scrappers. I am fortunate enough to get to host this amazing relay race lasting the entire weekend. There will be a freebie template for each leg!!

How it’s gonna work! There will be 7 legs of this race and you will have all weekend to complete the legs. Start with leg 1, complete it, upload it to the gallery and link it up in the “Race for Your Birthday Party, Charlie Brown - LEG 1” thread and then move on to the next leg. As you complete each leg move on to the next following the same steps as leg 1. The completion of each leg will get you a little giftie from me in your private mailbox at iscrap! Yay!! And the completion of all legs will get you extra crop points toward the grand prize for the weekend as well as a special prize from me!

This one’s gonna be fast and furious, but when you’re done, you’ll have the next birthday party ready to go!! I’m planning my 6 year old daughter’s birthday party, so my samples are gonna be WAY GIRLIE, but I’ll try to keep the templates as generic as possible!!

go check out the iscrap website, there's great stuff there and don't miss out on the weekend long crop - hope to see you there!!

here's a sneak peek at my sample for leg 1

the template is mine, the foil style is from Amanda Geils at Designing-Moments.net and everything else is from the Designing Moments Jan. Free with Purchase Collab Kit

Hey, I'm back!! Hope everyone had a lovely holiday! Are we ready to get started scrapping?

Just wanted to post quick heads up that I'm running a template challenge at iscrap this month. If you've never been to iscrap, go check it out by clicking the link to the right. There's a wonderful gallery with tons of inspiration, and tons of information for digi and traditional scrappers.

On with the challenge! Melanie Colosimo has generously given a free template for iscrap members to download, make a page using the template, upload it to the gallery and link it up in the challenge thread, and a winner will be picked for a $10 gc to melanie's shop at oscraps! Wow! You can find all the information here.

And here's a page I made with the template.
